Insurance Comparison Tool Guide

Selecting the correct insurance can be confusing with so many options such as HDFC ERGO, Care Health, or Star Health.

Insurance Comparison Tool lets you score plans side by side on coverage, claims, and cost, helping you pick the policy that gives the best protection and value.

Add Plans to Compare

You can compare up to three different health insurance plans.

  • Type correct names of the plans, like "HDFC ERGO Optima Restore", "Care Health Care Advantage", or "Star Health Family Health Optima".
  • You can compare up to three plans but you must have at least two options.
  • For the exact plan name you can consult the policy document or insurer's website.
💡 Double-check plan names on official policy documents or insurer websites.
Rate Key Criteria

Every insurance plan is evaluated based on four main criteria. Assign values or scores accordingly:

  • Premium Cost:

Enter the annual premium in rupees.

Example: HDFC = ₹15,000, Care Health = ₹12,000, Star Health = ₹14,000. Lower is preferable.

  • Coverage Amount (Sum Insured):

    Enter the coverage amount.

Example: ₹5,00,000 or ₹10,00,000. Higher is preferable.

  • Claim Settlement Ratio:

Rate from 1 to 10 based on ease of claims.

    Example: Above 95% = 9 or 10.

  • Hospital Networks (Cashless Access):

Score from 1 to 10 depending on the number of hospitals providing cashless treatment.

💡 Always verify claim settlement ratios and hospital network details on the insurer’s official website or IRDAI reports.
Set Criteria Weights

Not every policyholder has the same priorities. Adjust weights to focus on what matters most:

  • Premium Cost: Prioritize if affordability is most important.
  • Coverage Amount: Essential for families or people with higher medical risks.
  • Claim Settlement Ratio: Important for hassle-free approvals.
  • Hospital Network: Valuable if you live in smaller cities or travel often.
  • Examples: For family insurance, prioritize Coverage & Network. Increase Premium weight if affordability is critical.
💡 Don’t just choose the cheapest plan—adjust weights to match your situation.
Review & Compare

After entering plans, weights, and ratings, the tool calculates final scores.

  • Each plan gets a normalized score between 0 and 100.
  • The highest scoring plan is marked as "Recommended".
💡 A cheaper plan with a low claim settlement ratio may create issues later—look beyond price.
Export Result

Insurance choices often involve discussions with family or advisors.

  • Export results as PDF or Excel.
  • Share exported files with family members or agents.
💡 Exporting helps you review your comparison results anytime in the future.
Secure Your Future With Confidence
Use the Insurance Comparison Tool to select the right plan with peace of mind.
  • Compare both coverage and cost.
  • Choose insurers with strong claim settlement records.
  • Ensure your family gets the best protection at an affordable price.
